About this tool

A screenshot of an Instagram photo is limited by your screen — you lose pixels, gain interface clutter, and the crop is rarely right. This photo downloader returns the stored JPG at the resolution Instagram keeps, which for modern uploads means up to 1440 pixels on the long edge, with the original framing intact.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Copy the photo link

Three-dot menu on the post, then Copy link.

  2. 2

    Paste above

Both single images and carousels use the same field.

  3. 3

    Download

Each image appears with its pixel dimensions listed.

  4. 4

    Save

Tap to store it in your gallery or downloads folder.

Frequently asked questions

What resolution will the photo be?

Instagram stores a set of sizes and we pick the largest, commonly 1080×1080 for square posts and up to 1440 pixels wide for newer uploads. The original camera file is never exposed publicly by Instagram, so nothing can retrieve it.

Can I download all photos from a carousel at once?

Every slide is listed with its own button. Tap them in turn — browsers block a single click from triggering ten simultaneous downloads, so there is no zip option.

Is this Instagram downloader free to use?

Yes. Every tool on the site is free and there is no daily download cap for normal personal use. You do not need to create an account or install anything.

Do I need to log in with my Instagram account?

No, and you should never enter your Instagram password on a third-party site. We only read publicly available data, so no login is required or requested.

Can I download content from a private account?

No. Private posts are only visible to approved followers and our tool cannot access them. This limit is intentional and protects account privacy.
